8 Songs in 8 Weeks

Hey there folks! It's been a busy and productive summer. I am sad to feel summer slipping away to fall though. But to ease the transition I am presenting "8 new songs in 8 weeks". No need to get sad about the cool weather, I'll be keeping you warm with hot new joints for the next 8 weeks.


Week 4 Song:

Is called Ballin' a song that takes me back to my football playing days. A song that is sure to get you hyped before your big game.

Week 5 Song:

Mr. Incredible new song of the week is my super hero Jimi Hendrix influenced Jam. Combines soul, funk and rock with a dirty south beat.

Big Mike Loves the Kids

Last week I got to hang out with 20 great teens from NYC. When the R.A.P.P. summer camp came to my studio and got a crash course in recording. My producer “Ming” showed them his side of the game and I showed them mine. We even wrote and recorded an impromptu song, which was great because there was actually some real talent in the group. Everybody got a chance to get on the mic and shine. We even had a few perfectionists like myself who still weren’t satisfied when the left and kept wanting to make the song better. As soon as the song is mixed we will send it out to each of them to post on their myspace page. Working with kids is the best. Big Mike loves the kids!

Big Mike Loves to Showcase in the Fall

Hey folks your boy is back again and I’m on the grind. This fall is going to be a hustle. I’ll be doing showcases from New York to London. It’s time to really get the music out. I’ll be starting this Sunday 8/10 in Atlanta auditioning for the “Showcase of the South”. It’s a music festival in Atlanta showcasing new artists whose music celebrates the south. Atlanta is the heart of urban music in the south right now and I’m super excited to get down there and introduce them to the “Dirty Blues”. My fall schedule is really filling up so stay tuned and I’ll keep you posted on all the shows. Hopefully you’ll have t he time to come out when I come to your town. July already...

It absolutely amazes me how fast time flies, you barely blink and half the year is gone. Just a brief on what I've been up to lately. Had to get away from NYC so I vacationed in Florida (the beach ahhh) which is where I'm from, soaked up the sunshine and the outdoor BBQs and some good ol' family time. I even got a little sun burn on my black ass..but nothing beats midnight swimming though naked preferably! Back in the big city now:Had a cookout NYC style, which means right out side on the sidewalk in the concrete jungle for the forth of July. I grilled Delmonico steaks and brats and had some limoncello (which is a great Italian liquor and if you haven't had it I strongly recommend getting some). Also started watching "Weeds" a little late I know but a great show I am completely hooked!



Now folks it's time to get back on track.... and hit the ground running! I shot my first music video last week which was really exciting. It is entitled "Nigarachi Tootachi". You'll either laugh your ass off or be completely offended which if that's the case I'll be laughing my ass off."The Nigarachi" who is a character I created, is someone we have all have seen around town, but now he has a name, a song, and a music video. The Launch of our Cyber PR campaign 5/12/2008

The Launch of Michael Lynche Cyber style!!

Well folks as I enter into the world of internet technology, that being social networking, I am very excited and a lot overwhelmed! There are a ton of ways to social network out there... it is mind boggling! I feel similar to a bear in hibernation and I'm coming out of the cave for the spring after a long winter. I usually spend my time in the studio writing, recording and creating. I found that networking is a great way to connect with people and keep everyone informed on whats going on in your life. It's not nearly as hard as picking up the phone and talking the small talk we know we all hate but still do. Writing is what I am good at and comes pretty natural for me. It's just like talking but you don't have to be so mindful of what you say, in a way.

May has actually been a whirl wind of a month for me with my 25th Birthday approaching at the end of the month and it's like a sledge hammer ready to come down. I've always thought of 25 as the year you need to be settled in your career and on your way to success. Well on your way up the mountain so to speak and setting up retirement and all that jazz. With the launch of the cyber pr and other opportunities falling into place, I feel fairly certain we are well on our way to breaking new ground!

We are about to wrap up on our 10th song for the album, which is great! We have been putting this project together and creating the "Dirty Blues" signature sound for the last year or so and we are almost fully complete. We just finished up with the Spring Showcase Series and looking into to doing a Summer full of shows. So stay tuned for upcoming show dates!
